Frequently Asked Questions
We believe that patients become empowered to decide the best care for themselves. Here are the answers to some of the most common questions asked at Hamilton Care Dental Centre, from booking your first appointment to your coverage.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new patients of every age, and appointments are often available within days. We also reserve time each day for dental emergencies.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Kindly bring along your photo ID, dental insurance card or CDCP member ID, and an updated list of medications. If you’ve had X-rays taken by another dentist recently, feel free to bring those too.
Do you accept insurance and the CDCP?
Yes. We bill most Canadian private plans directly, so you only pay your co-pay or deductible at your appointment, and we accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan through Sun Life.
What if I cannot pay for treatment up front?
We offer flexible financing and 0% payment options for qualifying patients. Our team is glad to review the choices that best fit your budget.
Do you offer emergency dental care?
Yes. We hold appointment slots each day for urgent concerns such as severe pain, swelling, a broken tooth, or a lost filling. Please call us as soon as possible so we can help.
Do you see children and the whole family?
Yes. We care for patients of every age, from toddlers to grandparents, and we can often schedule cleanings for several family members back to back. First visits for little ones focus on gentle, positive experiences.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday to Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday visits are by appointment, and we are closed on Sundays.
Which dental services do you offer?
As a full-service practice, Hamilton Care Dental Centre keeps most treatments under one roof, including:
- Preventative exams, cleanings, and children’s dentistry
- Fillings, crowns, bridges, and dental implants
- SureSmile clear aligners and teeth whitening
- Root canal therapy, extractions, and dentures
If you are unsure whether we provide a specific treatment, just ask and we will point you in the right direction.
I feel anxious about the dentist. Can you help?
Absolutely. We offer nitrous oxide sedation to help you stay calm and relaxed while remaining fully awake, and we take extra time to explain each step along the way.
Do you speak languages other than English?
Yes. Several members of our team speak Arabic and other languages, and we will happily match you with someone you feel comfortable with.
How often should I have a checkup?
Most patients benefit from a checkup and cleaning every six months. Patients with gum disease, braces, or implants may need visits every three to four months, and our team at Hamilton Care Dental Centre will recommend the schedule that keeps your smile healthy.
